Welcome to this blog celebrating our outstanding Gold Award winners from the past four years. Let's take a trip down memory lane and revisit these remarkable achievements.

Unlike other categories, this prestigious award cannot be entered directly. Instead, it is awarded to one of the nominees in recognition of their exceptional contributions to digital education. Winning this award is a mark of excellence, highlighting those who have significantly advanced the field of digital education and made a profound impact on students and educators alike.

The 2020 Gold Award Winner was Tynker, an educational platform that teaches children coding and computer science skills through interactive courses, games, and projects. It offers both block-based and text-based coding, making it suitable for beginners as well as more advanced learners. Tynker is used both at home and in schools to help children develop crucial STEM skills while enjoying the process of creating games, apps, and more. The platform also provides tools for teachers and parents to monitor progress and support learning.

The 2021 Gold Award Winner was Natterhub, an educational platform focused on teaching children online safety, digital literacy, and responsible internet use, particularly for primary schools. It offers a safe, simulated online environment with interactive lessons covering topics such as social media, privacy, and cyberbullying. Natterhub aims to equip children with the skills to engage with the internet safely, while also providing teachers with tools to monitor their progress, making it a comprehensive resource for digital education.

The 2022 Gold Award Winner was Thrive Approach. For over 25 years, Thrive’s unique approach to wellbeing has been proven to make a positive impact on the learning and lives of children and young people. The Thrive Approach consists of two components – high-quality training and a mental health mapping and action-planning tool called Thrive-Online. Together, these allow educators to monitor and measure progress in wellbeing and create action plans for improvement, with positive relationships with trusted adults acting as the catalyst for change.

The 2023 Gold Award Winner was OPENPediatrics, a global leader in online pediatric education. It is recognised for providing trusted, evidence-based, and innovative learning experiences. Created by clinicians at Boston Children's Hospital, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital, OPENPediatrics embodies a commitment to offering free online educational content to clinicians worldwide, supporting those caring for sick children.
